What In a Day Is About
Ashley is trying to get a career in music off the ground while paying her rent making sandwiches in a London deli. In the middle of a bad day a man she has never met turns up and devotes himself to improving it, kind and generous and hard to read. The film keeps to the single day of its title and watches how far two strangers can open up to each other, and when that is comforting and when it is strange. What slowly emerges behind the man’s persistence is something in his past he wants to make up for. Evan Richards wrote and directed this small independent picture, shot around London, with Lorraine Pilkington and Finlay Robertson as the two.
