Innocent Witness

Innocent Witness opened in South Korea on February 13, 2019, and grossed 17.2 million dollars worldwide. Kim Hyang-gi, who plays a teenage girl on the autism spectrum, was just 18 at the time and was praised for balancing the character's determination as a witness with her autistic traits, though some reviews criticized the film for exaggerating savant abilities that in reality appear in only a small percentage of autistic people. Who it's for: anyone curious about a murder case where the only witness is a teenage girl with autism, and the praised young performance behind it. Who it's not for: viewers wanting a portrayal of autism that hasn't drawn criticism, since the film's approach has been debated.
