Alun Hubbard What Into the Ice Is About
The documentary takes up the ice sheet of Greenland. The film sets out with three glaciologists. All three are leading names in their field. The expedition goes into the inland ice. The aim is to understand what lies beneath it. One of them descends into a moulin two hundred metres deep. A moulin is a vertical shaft opened inside the ice. Data about the bed is gathered down there. What they find carries a warning for the climate. According to the film those findings call for acting now. That call is the work’s own. Jason Box, Dorthe Dahl-Jensen and Alun Hubbard appear in Lars Ostenfeld’s Danish documentary of 2022, which runs eighty five minutes.
