Invincible Shaolin

A Manchu general sets out to turn the northern and southern branches of Shaolin against each other. He brings in three northern masters to train his soldiers and steers them into challenging the southern masters. The north wins the bouts. That night the general has the southern masters killed and pins it on the north. The southern master sends more of his students, and they die too. In the end he trains three students separately for years, each one raised against one of the northern masters' techniques. Chang Cheh directs; a hundred and six minutes, with Lo Meng, Sun Chien, Chiang Sheng and Lu Feng, the company of students known as the Venoms. The fights rest on choreography rather than cutting, each held long in a single take.
