What Iraq for Sale: The War Profiteers Is About
Robert Greenwald's 2006 documentary is about the private companies that supplied services and materiel to the American military during the Iraq war. It talks to people who worked or still work at firms like Halliburton, KBR and CACI, to soldiers, to truck drivers and to relatives of employees who were killed. The charge is that contracts were handed out without oversight, that the quality of the work stayed low, and that the companies put their own workers' safety behind profit. These are the claims made by the film and by the people it interviews. The production's attempts to get a response from company spokesmen came to nothing, and that is in the film too. It was distributed by Brave New Films.
