It All Started at the End

The documentary takes up an artistic collective. The collective is called Grupo de Cali. It is known as Caliwood as well. Its members were a circle of friends devoted to cinema. The film is put together as a self-portrait. The director came from inside that circle. The account covers the years between 1971 and 1991. Those were years of youth and of chaos. The collective built its work in that setting. What they made is now counted a fundamental part of Colombian film history. The tone of the account is close and personal. Carlos Mayolo, Andrés Caicedo, Karen Lamassonne and Ramiro Arbeláez appear in Luis Ospina’s Colombian documentary of 2015, which runs two hundred and eight minutes.
