What Ivory Tower Is About
Tuition in the United States has been climbing far faster than inflation for years, and total student debt has passed a trillion dollars. The documentary puts the question directly: is college still worth it? It moves from the halls of Harvard to small colleges close to financial collapse and on to the education startups of Silicon Valley. Andrew Rossi is not hunting a single villain. He works through campus construction, administrative salaries, the withdrawal of public funding and the conversion of the student into a customer. He also shows the alternatives, from tuition-free colleges to student movements. It does not land on a verdict, but it makes the size of the problem unmistakable.
