Just for Kicks

The documentary takes up the trainer. The account follows the history of that object. In time the shoe became a culture of its own. People who call themselves sneakerheads speak in the film. Grandmaster Caz and Reverend Run are among them. Missy Elliott is in it as well. One part of the account is given to the Nike Air Force One. In New York that model was called the Uptowns. The beginning of the Air Jordan line is told too. Another part looks at the bond between hip hop and the shoe. DJ Run, Jam Master Jay and DMC made a song. It was called My Adidas and it put everyone in Adidas Superstars. Thibaut de Longeville and Lisa Leone’s French and American coproduction of 2005 runs eighty one minutes.
