Birju is the son of a comfortable family. His mother, father, elder brother and nephew are in the house. His father wants him to take a job. Birju does not take that seriously. He gets by on petty theft and lies. Then there is Neha. Birju is in love with her. He says he wants to marry her. His family sees an opportunity in it. Perhaps this will straighten their son out. Then Neha learns the truth. She calls off the marriage and moves to another town. Birju goes after her. He finds Neha at a hospital. Her mother needs surgery and there is no money. Birju gets the money by stealing it. By the time he reaches the hospital the operation has already been done. Bobby Deol and Neha appear in the hundred and fifty five minute film, an Indian production Vidhu Vinod Chopra finished in 1998.
