In the second instalment Naresuan is crown prince of Ayutthaya and governor of its capital. The king of Burma has died, and while his successor presses on with the war he also lays plans to have the prince assassinated. Warned in time, Naresuan evacuates Siamese subjects from Burmese territory and, at the border town of Kraeng in 1584, pours water from a golden vessel onto the ground and declares in front of his soldiers and the monks travelling with them that Siam is no longer a tributary of Hongsawadi. The pursuing army is broken at the Sittaung river by a single musket shot that reaches the far bank and kills their commander Surakamma. Chatrichalerm Yukol released this chapter, also known as Reclamation of Sovereignty, on 15 February 2007.
