What Knights of Sidonia: Love Woven in the Stars Is About
After the Earth was destroyed by the mysterious alien lifeforms known as the Gauna, what remained of humanity took refuge on Sidonia, an enormous generation ship. Adrift in space for millennia, the ship comes under Gauna attack again after a century’s gap, and the temporary victory is won thanks to Tsumugi Shiraui, a human and Gauna hybrid, and the ace pilot Nagate Tanikaze. Ten years on, the people of Sidonia have a brief respite, and Tsumugi begins to recognise her feelings for Nagate, who is now regarded as a hero. But as Captain Kobayashi knows, peace cannot last while the Gauna remain, and the decision is taken for a final battle. The hundred and twenty minute Japanese animation by Hiroyuki Seshita and Tadahiro Yoshihira was completed in 2021.
