What Ajin: Demi-Human - Compel Is About
Kei is hit by a bus and does not die. That is how he finds out he is an Ajin, one of an immortal kind. The government catches Ajin and experiments on them, so Kei is now a fugitive, and staying alive depends on learning to use his new ability and the Black Ghost that appears beside him. Another Ajin, Sato, has chosen a far more violent answer to the state. This is the first of three films adapted from Gamon Sakurai's manga. Polygon Pictures' computer animation keeps movement deliberately stiff and mechanical, which takes some getting used to and pays off in the action.
