Naruto Shippuden the Movie: Blood Prison

The fifth feature film in the Naruto Shippuden series. Naruto is accused of attacking the Raikage, the leader of the Cloud Village, and is shut in a facility called the Blood Prison. He denies it, but the evidence points at him. The prison has one particular property: a seal inside it means prisoners cannot use chakra. So Naruto's entire power is taken from him, and the first half of the film is built on that. The warden, Mui, has plans of his own, and the prison's reason for existing is not what it appears; there is a box beneath the facility. The story stands apart from the anime's main line; the events do not connect to the series and it closes on itself for anyone not following it. Masahiko Murata directed. Junko Takeuchi voices Naruto as always. A suitable choice for viewers following the Naruto series and for anyone looking for anime films that work on their own. For a viewer expecting a contribution to the main story, the film adds nothing; when the events are over everything returns to where it started.
