Bungo Stray Dogs: Dead Apple

People with abilities begin killing themselves, and a fog descends before each death. When the Armed Detective Agency investigates, everything ties back to one man: Shibusawa, who can separate abilities from their bodies and give them form. Takuya Igarashi's film sits between series arcs while telling its own story. The premise comes from literature, since the characters' names and powers are taken from real Japanese writers and their works, from Dazai to Akutagawa. The relationship given most room here is the old partnership between Dazai and Chuya. The animation is above the series level and the design of the fog is its visual signature. Who it is for: viewers who follow the series and like action anime built on literary reference. Who it is not for: newcomers, since there are too many characters and none are introduced.
