Krishnagudiyil Oru Pranayakalathu

Meenakshi is a young woman who has lost her father. She goes to stay with her sister Uma and her brother-in-law Pavithran. Both of them are officers posted in a village called Krishnagudi. The warm air of the village does Meenakshi good. But Meenakshi is caught between two things. On one side is the word her father gave. The word was given to a man called Akhilachandran. On the other side is her own heart. Her heart belongs to someone else. The two things cannot be reconciled. Meenakshi finds it hard to decide. What the family expects clashes with what she wants. The account is built on that dilemma. The film is put together as a love story. Jayaram and Manju Warrier take the leads, with Biju Menon and Balachandra Menon also in the cast, in Kamal’s Malayalam film of 1997.
