La adopción

A Spanish couple set out to adopt a child. Where they are going is a country in Eastern Europe. The film never names that country. They have come with hope and with preparation. Things do not go the way they expected. What they meet is a cold and tangled environment. The process runs through corruption. The future of children and the hope of parents become part of the same bargaining. The longer the wait, the greater the strain. The couple deal with pressure from outside. Meanwhile the old troubles between them rise to the surface. They begin weighing each other up again. They are stuck in a foreign city whose language they do not speak. The film tells this in a narrow space, between two people. The director drew on what she went through herself. Nora Navas and Francesc Garrido appear in the ninety minute film, a Spanish production Daniela Féjerman finished in 2015.
