La cambiale

The Posalaquaglia cousins are small-time swindlers living day to day. A bill of exchange for a hundred thousand lire, signed by the well-known financier Bruscatelli, comes into their hands. On their way to cash it the news breaks: Bruscatelli has been arrested and the paper is worthless. But if the cousins can find someone who does not know that, it is still worth money. The bill starts changing hands, and every time it does, another swindler appears. Camillo Mastrocinque directs this Italian comedy, with Totò, Vittorio Gassman and Ugo Tognazzi all in it. A hundred and five minutes. Peppino De Filippo and Sylva Koscina are also in the cast. It carries one of the most crowded name lists in Italian comedy of the late fifties.
