What Ladies & Gentlemen, the Rolling Stones Is About
The film puts together two concerts from the 1972 North American tour of the Rolling Stones. It was shot in Texas. There are fifteen songs, five of them from Exile on Main Street. The stage is small, with three more musicians beside the band. Until the lights come up near the end, the group is seen against a black background. The camera stays mostly on Jagger and moves now and then to Taylor. Richards comes on screen for the duets and for the guitar work on the last two songs. It is music from start to finish: hard rock, blues, and a nod to Chuck Berry. Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor are on the stage in Rollin Binzer’s eighty three minute American film, completed in 1973.
