What LEGO House - Home of the Brick Is About
In the town of Billund in Denmark, where Lego was founded, a building shaped like a brick is going up: a house of roughly twelve thousand square metres, designed entirely by the logic of the toy itself. The documentary follows the process: the idea, the model, the construction, the opening. The building is to be both a museum and a play area. Anders Falck's forty-seven minute documentary follows Bjarke Ingels, the architect who designed the building, and Kjeld Kirk Kristiansen, the owner of the company. The film sits close to being an advertisement for the company; there is no criticism and no discussion of cost. What is interesting instead is the architecture: how the rules of a toy get turned into a building at full scale.
