Lessons of Tolerance

The teacher Nadia sets up a group. What the group is for is the acceptance of LGBTQ people. A family decides to join the programme. The family’s prejudices on the subject are plain enough. Their reason for joining is not idealistic either. The money offered to them is what persuades them. The condition is to spend twenty four hours with the group’s members. Among the members are Vasyl and Zenyk. The actress Diana and the short-tempered Denys are in the group too. Through the day they play games together. The games are built on equality and empathy. Homophobia and discrimination are discussed as well. The film comes at prejudice through humour. Olena Uzliuk and Oleksandr Yarema take the leads in Arkadii Nepytaliuk’s Ukrainian film of 2024.
