Let the Wind Carry Me

The documentary is about Mark Lee Ping-bin. He is one of the most prolific cinematographers in Asia. The camera follows him on set. You see how he builds the light. He is a quiet and watchful man. When he talks he turns the matter into philosophy. The work is not really the subject, though. This profession requires being permanently on the road. He stays away from home for long stretches. His family pays for that arrangement. The film does not cover that over. The directors and actors he has worked with speak as well. Each of them describes his way of working. The story is built as a portrait. Shu Qi and Mark Lee Ping-Bing appear in the ninety minute documentary, a Taiwanese production Kwan Pung-Leung and Chiang Hsiu-Chiung finished in 2009.
