What Lily Topples The World Is About
The documentary follows Lily Hevesh, who is twenty. Hevesh builds domino structures and films them as they fall. She is the only woman with a name in that field. The camera watches her building the structures, recording them and putting them online. How much patience and calculation the work takes is inside the account. At the same time it tells the story of a young person building a profession of her own. The film uses the language of admiration, and that view is the film’s own. The ninety minutes are spread over a few years. Jimmy Fallon and Casey Neistat also appear. Jeremy Workman’s American documentary was completed in 2021.
