Line of Sight

The documentary is about underground bicycle messenger racing. These races spread over time to cities around the world. For more than a decade Lucas Brunelle has been riding with those cyclists. With custom cameras mounted on his helmet he records the racing from inside it. The footage comes out of the traffic, from the rider’s own eye. The film does not hide how dangerous the racing is; what speed and risk mean is there on the screen. The state of a community that uses the city by its own rules is the real subject. The sixty minutes are built largely out of helmet camera footage. Alongside Brunelle, Austin Horse and Kym Perfetto are in the cast of Benny Zenga’s American documentary, completed in 2012.
