What Little Hope Was Arson Is About
In January 2010 ten churches burned in East Texas. The fires were spread over a little more than a month. All of them burned to the ground. The events set off the largest criminal investigation in the region’s history. The documentary follows that investigation. The arson attacks came one after another. The inquiry spread wide. The account rests on a real case. It is a devout part of the country, and the churches stand at the centre of life. The investigation shakes the communities from the inside. Families are torn apart in the course of it. Congregations are left between forgiveness and justice. Theo Love’s American documentary, seventy one minutes long, was completed in 2013.
