What Little Rose Is About
Poland, 1967. The regime is running a campaign against intellectuals of Jewish origin. Rozek, a colonel in the security service, is told to discredit Warczewski, a respected writer. He puts his own girlfriend Kamila into the man's life; she will report under the code name Little Rose. Kamila has no interest in the ideology and only wants to please Rozek. But the longer she spends with the older man, the harder the reports become to write. Jan Kidawa-Błoński directs, with Magdalena Boczarska as Kamila, Andrzej Seweryn as Warczewski and Robert Więckiewicz as Rozek. Behind it all are the events of March 1968 and the thousands of people who left the country. As the distance between agent and target closes, who is using whom stops being clear.
