Loki: Arnaldo Baptista

The documentary tells the life of the musician Arnaldo Baptista from his childhood on. His brightest years at the head of Os Mutantes, his marriage to the singer Rita Lee and the separation that followed make up the first half. After the group broke up Baptista went through a heavy depression, and the film says that in those years he tried to end his life. Afterwards he returned to his own work and came closer again to his brother Sérgio Dias. The account ends with the band coming back together in 2006. The film does not make material for legend out of illness; it shows what happened and how long recovery took. Rita Lee, Sérgio Dias and Tom Zé are among those speaking. Paulo Henrique Fontenelle’s hundred and twenty minute Brazilian documentary was completed in 2009.
