What Lonely Castle in the Mirror Is About
Kokoro has not gone to school in weeks. One day the mirror in her bedroom begins to glow and she finds herself in a castle with six other children who also cannot face school. A girl in a wolf mask sets out the rules: a wishing key is hidden somewhere in the castle, and anyone still there after five in the evening gets eaten. The fantasy shell looks gentle, but the subject is bullying and school refusal, and the castle is not an escape so much as the only place these children can breathe.
