A group of Hong Kong criminals is hired to rescue student protesters fleeing the mainland. The job is for money, but the men are soon caught in the middle of a political tug of war. Mainland authorities are after them and the escape grows harder at every step. The film speaks from inside the action genre, but its ground is directly political. How close the year of the shoot is to the events it tells gives the account a weight of its own. It is the fourth film in the series and comes from the same vein as the earlier ones. That the escape runs underground is written into the title. Elvis Tsui Kam-Kong, Chan Ging and Frankie Chan Chi-Leung appear in Michael Mak Tong-Kit’s hundred minute Hong Kong film, completed in 1990.
