Love Don't Co$t a Thing

A romantic comedy set in a high school. Alvin is one of the school's invisible students. His grades are good, he works on cars and is saving for university. The popular circle does not know he exists. Paris is the best-known girl at the school. She damages her mother's car and has no money to repair it. Alvin makes her an offer: he will hand over his savings if she acts as his girlfriend for two weeks. The arrangement works. Within two weeks Alvin is one of the known boys at school. His clothes change, his speech changes and he drifts away from his old friends. What the film is interested in is the price of popularity: Alvin gives up being himself in order to be accepted, and does not notice. It is a remake of a film made in the 1980s and the core structure is the same. Nick Cannon plays Alvin and Christina Milian plays Paris. Kenan Thompson and Steve Harvey are in the cast.
