Ilian Djevelekov’s first feature follows the parallel stories of a group of people trying to change their lives over the internet, or simply amusing themselves online. Email threads, dating sites and the closeness that gets built in front of a screen carry every connection in the film. It opened in Bulgaria on 1 April 2011, finished the year as the country’s top domestic box office title with more than two hundred and ten thousand admissions, and ended up in the all-time top ten for Bulgarian films. Djevelekov took best director from the Bulgarian Film Academy the same year, and Miramar Film produced it. The structure stays deliberately loose, letting the strands run alongside each other instead of tying them into one plot.
