Love Stories

Jerzy Stuhr wrote the film, directed it and plays four separate parts in it. There are four men: an army officer, a university teacher, a priest and a man who deals drugs, and each of them has a relationship with a woman. The teacher is put in an impossible position by a student who tells him she is in love with him. An eleven year old girl turns up in front of the priest and says she is his daughter. The officer is pleased when an old lover appears. The dealer, once in prison, has to decide whether to trust his wife with the money he hid. At the end an elderly accountant passes judgement on all four. Stuhr talked the screenplay over with Krzysztof Kieslowski. The eighty seven minute Polish film was completed in 1997.
