Menachem Lang is an actor in his thirties with an extraordinary voice. He goes back to the place he grew up, Bnei Brak, one of the centres of ultra orthodox Judaism, after more than ten years away. As a child, from the age of seven, he was raped by devout men within the community. In the film he confronts the men who did it, talks with other young men who went through the same thing, and tries to repair things with his parents. Yolande Zauberman shot the film herself and shot all of it at night. The charge the film makes is explicit: this was not a set of isolated cases but an arrangement normalised by being covered up. It won the special jury prize at Locarno in 2018.
