Maddman: The Steve Madden Story

Steve Madden started in shoes with a small sum. The capital he had was eleven hundred dollars. The brand he built grew over time. His shoes ended up in millions of wardrobes. The documentary tells that rise. Not only the rise, though. He came to the edge of losing everything several times. Drugs and alcohol had a part in that. So did his drive to build the business. That drive cost him his private life. He put even his freedom at risk. The film had close access to him. Madden does not defend himself as he talks. His name also came up in a Martin Scorsese film. Steve Madden tells his own story in the seventy eight minute documentary, an American production Ben Patterson finished in 2017.
