What March of the Penguins 2: The Next Step Is About
Twelve years after the documentary that made emperor penguins famous, Luc Jacquet returned to Antarctica with a narrower question in mind. Instead of following the colony as a mass, the camera stays with a single young bird setting out across the ice for the first time and watches where instinct takes it. The photography is well ahead of the first film and the underwater sequences are the reason to watch. The English title sells it as a sequel; the original is simply L'empereur. Lambert Wilson narrates the French version.
