Melody of a Murder

A woman is found strangled in her own shop. Not long after, a second murder is committed. The most unsettling detail is this: both women were named Sonja. The police are certain it is the work of the same person. At both scenes the same song was heard, sung by a woman. That song soon comes to be called the murder melody. The film builds its investigation on that single clue. It comes from the noir vein of Danish cinema in 1944. The ninety three minutes are given to a single investigation. Gull-Maj Norin and Poul Reichhardt appear in Bodil Ipsen’s Danish film, completed in 1944.
