Mercano the Martian

Mercano is a Martian. A probe sent from earth kills his pet. Angered, Mercano sets out for earth. He lands in Buenos Aires, and at first nobody takes any notice of him. That an alien can stay invisible in a city is the first joke of the story. The film is built as an animation for adults. Virtual reality and city life are inside the account. The eighty seven minutes put science fiction and satire together. The account shows the city through Mercano’s eyes, as a place that is foreign and hard to make sense of. Graciela Borges, Roberto Carnaghi and Fabio Alberti are among the voices. Juan Antín’s Argentine film was completed in 2002.
