Miloš Forman: What Doesn't Kill You…

The documentary is about Miloš Forman. Its director Miloslav Šmídmajer had filmed him twice before. This is his third. Forman talks about his childhood. He talks about the road his life took. He goes into his relationships with his children. The camera follows him at his house in Connecticut. He is unusually open about his private life. What he says is set beside what other people say. Family members and friends speak. Excerpts from his films come in, with commentary from the actors who played in them. The archive holds footage from Cannes in 1968 and from Academy Award ceremonies, and the theatre work he did with his sons in 2007 is in the film as well. Shooting was spread over five years. F. Murray Abraham and Michael Douglas also speak in the hundred minute film, a Czech, French and German production Miloslav Šmídmajer finished in 2009.
