What Moon Man Is About
Duguyue is a maintenance worker on a lunar base. Nobody remembers him during the evacuation and he is left behind, and moments later a meteorite hits the Earth. He believes he is the last human being in existence, while on Earth there are survivors watching him on camera. Adapted from a Korean webtoon, the film gets both a great deal of comedy and an unexpected amount of feeling out of the loneliest man in the universe. Shen Teng plays him as someone with no interest in being a hero, only in staying alive. It was one of the biggest Chinese hits of 2022.
