Mosku: The Last of His Kind

The film tells the life of a man called Mosku. Mosku is a reindeer man in Eastern Lapland. The time is the beginning of the twentieth century. In those years the social conditions are changing. The traditional ways of making a living are changing with them. Mosku is caught up in reindeer disputes and skirmishes. He also joins a hunt for bandits on the border with Soviet Russia. That hunt is led by Wallenius, the commander of the Lapland border guard. The work runs history and drama together. Petter Sairanen and Rauno Ahonen are in the cast too. Kai Lehtinen and Maria Järvenhelmi take the leads in Tapio Suominen’s Finnish film of 2003.
