Mother

The film is set in the Balochistan region of Pakistan. The railway line in the area is being closed. That closure touches the lives of the families there directly. At the centre of the account is the mother of a family. The woman dies at the start of the film. But her presence carries on through the account. Those left behind are her husband and her son. Both are going through a hard time. Before them is a dispute over land. They have to contend with the state and with one of their own. But the real test is not outside. They come face to face with the corruption inside themselves as well. Samiya Mumtaz, Hameed Sheikh and Shaz Khan take the leads in Jami’s Pakistani film of 2015.
