Mr. Perrin and Mr. Traill

The story is set in a boys’ boarding school. The school is in Cornwall, away from the town. Perrin has taught there for years. The promotion he expected never came. His life has passed inside the walls of the school. He is a bitter and tired man. Then a young master arrives. Traill is good looking and easily liked. The boys warm to him at once. In the same town there is a woman Perrin cares for. Traill’s arrival upsets that balance too. The jealousy inside Perrin grows. The tension between the two men becomes unbearable. The film was adapted from a novel by Hugh Walpole. Marius Goring and David Farrar appear in the ninety two minute film, a British production Lawrence Huntington finished in 1948.
