Muqaddar Ka Sikandar

Sikandar is an orphan who grew up on the street. He fights a great deal on his way to becoming rich and makes as many friends as enemies. But his heart is always with Kaamna, his childhood love, and he can never tell her. A dancer named Zohra loves him and stays by him. Everything comes apart when Kaamna falls for Sikandar's closest friend. Prakash Mehra's film became one of Amitabh Bachchan's biggest earners of the 1970s. Vinod Khanna, Rakhee and Rekha are also in the cast. Its three hours plus follow the familiar shape of Hindi cinema of the period: the orphan hero, unreturned love, the debt of friendship and sacrifice. The songs by Kalyanji-Anandji, and Rekha's dance number in particular, became famous independently of the film.
