What My Little Pony: Equestria Girls - Friendship Games Is About
The third film in the Equestria Girls series. The traditional Friendship Games between Canterlot High and its rival Crystal Prep are approaching, and Crystal Prep's outstanding student is a girl named Twilight Sparkle, the counterpart in this world of the character from the main series, who has not yet met any of her friends. The idea is that this Twilight treats magic as a scientific problem. She tries to collect the strange energy she has measured at the school in a device, and what she gathers eventually takes her over. The resulting Midnight Sparkle is the darkest antagonist in the series, and what matters is that the evil does not come from outside. Building the rivalry as an inter-school competition gives the series new ground, and the songs and the animation are noticeably stronger than in the first two films. Who it is for: young viewers following the series and families looking for animation to watch together. Who it is not for: anyone who has not seen the earlier films, since the story is built directly on them.
