My Stupid Boss 2

Upi's 2019 Indonesian film continues from the previous one. The boss, who has driven off most of his employees, travels to Vietnam with three of them in search of cheap labour, and things go wrong from the start. The humour comes from the boss's unreason. Every decision undoes the last, and the employees have to gather up the consequences rather than object; the narrative builds that loop through repetition. Reza Rahadian plays the boss and keeps the part broad, with Bunga Citra Lestari as the employee. The tone is light and the pace high. It was shot in Malaysia and Vietnam. Who it's for: those who like Indonesian comedy and follow the series. Who it's not for: viewers expecting character development; the film repeats the same joke in different forms.
