My Younger Brother

Dima has just finished school. The final exams are behind him. What he has in mind is getting away from home. His elder brother Viktor tries to talk him out of it. He tells him to take the future seriously. That advice only fires up the four friends further. They set off for the Baltic coast. Tallinn is where they are heading. Galya, a classmate, travels with them. Galya wants to be an actress. What she feels for Dima she keeps to herself. In the city they meet new people. When the money runs out they start looking for work. First they work in a furniture shop. Then they join a fishing collective on the coast. The recklessness of Dima strains what is between them. The film was adapted from a novel. Aleksandr Zbruev and Lyudmila Marchenko appear in the ninety nine minute film, a Soviet production Aleksandr Zarkhi finished in 1962.
