Natrang

Guna is a labourer in the countryside of Maharashtra. He makes his living from daily work. He is passionately attached to tamasha theatre. One day he decides to start a company of his own. The part he dreamed of was the king. But the part that falls to him is the nachya. The nachya is the male performer who plays the women’s roles in tamasha. Guna takes the part all the same. The decision changes him and his family for good. How the people around him see him shifts from that point on. Guna is left caught between his art and his standing in society. Atul Kulkarni and Sonalee Kulkarni take the leads, with Kishore Kadam and Vibhavari Deshpande also in the cast, in Ravi Jadhav’s Marathi film of 2010.
