What Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics Is About
A documentary about the villains of DC comics, taking them one at a time: the Joker, Lex Luthor, Sinestro, Darkseid and the rest. The question it asks is a simple and good one, that a hero is only as interesting as whatever stands opposite him, so why have these particular figures proved so durable. Artists, writers and directors speak, among them Guillermo del Toro, Zack Snyder and Richard Donner, with Christopher Lee narrating. Followable if you have never read the comics, though aimed at people who have.
