No Place to Go

Hanna Flanders is a well known writer. The year is 1989 and the Berlin Wall is coming down. When she hears the news she sets off. She goes to Berlin and watches what is happening. But she cannot share the joy. She had seen the order in the East as a good thing. Now that order is ending. There is nobody around her who understands. The excitement in the streets feels distant to her. After a while she goes back to Munich. She cannot settle there either. She sees old acquaintances and her family. Each meeting leaves her a little more alone. Hannelore Elsner and Vadim Glowna take the leads, with Michael Gwisdek also in the cast, in Oskar Roehler’s German film of 2000.
