Nunakkuzhi

Jeethu Joseph's 2024 Malayalam film follows an immature company director trying to get his laptop back from a tax officer. Eby tells a new lie at every step, and each one puts him in a more complicated position. The film follows the classic comic template of a lie growing like a snowball and applies it properly. Basil Joseph's timing is good. The structural precision Jeethu Joseph is known for in his thrillers is applied here to comedy; every detail is used later. Its weakness is a final section that runs long and supporting characters left without function. Who it's for: viewers who like Malayalam comedy and stories built on misunderstanding. Who it's not for: anyone wanting social depth, or who will find a long narrative wearing.
