Our Youth In Taiwan

The documentary follows three people. One is a leading figure of the Taiwanese student movement. His name is Chen Wei-ting. One is a Chinese student studying in Taiwan. Her name is Cai Boyi. The third is the director herself. Fu Yue films it and narrates it. All three of them wanted change. They believed a better country could be built. Then a large social movement took place. It came to be called the Sunflower Movement. The film shows what came before those days and what came after. Those who took part talk about how close they came to their aims. They also talk about where they were let down. They ask whether it is still possible to keep fighting. The director had begun filming both of them before either was known. The film was named best documentary at the Golden Horse Awards and took the same prize at the Taipei Film Awards. The hundred and eighteen minute film is a Taiwanese production Fu Yue finished in 2018.
